Diamond Jubilee

Did you know that the Queen has been in reign for 60 years now?? Amazing! It is rumoured that she will be the longest, reigning sovereign in history. How did you celebrate this Diamond Jubilee?  Had an amazingly set up high tea at home, with good company and delicious sandwiches and scones. I had also made and designed British cupcakes - they were scrumptious! Cheerio! [slideshow]

Welcome to the Bahamas!

It was such a lovely trip, laid back and very relaxed. Both myself and my boyfriend enjoyed 4 days of what the Bahamas had to offer - a lot of conch fritters and of course a lot of beach time. We spent a morning downtown in Nassau, filled with government buildings, gardens and tourist shops. We stopped by the rum cake factory one day too, and bought ourselves souvenirs and a large cake to share throughout our trip. The coconut rum cake is absolutely decadent! We stayed at the Sheraton Nassau Resort and had a very laid back experience. The Bahama Mama was a newly discovered beverage - pineapple juice and rum were key. All in all, if you're looking for a weekend getaway, hit up the Bahamas. Did you know there are up to 700 islands in the Bahamas? Pink sand beaches are also a big thing - which we didn't get a chance to do. As our cab driver told us, "there is much to do in the Bahamas!" [slideshow]

Melissa and Sam's Wedding - Nassau Bahamas

From the One and Only Resort to the Cove Atlantis - guests were staying at both hotels celebrating the most extravagant wedding I have ever been to. My aunt Melissa's wedding took place in the nicest part of the Bahamas and she paid very closely attention to every detail that went to going into planning her big day. This festive, four day weekend was simply amazing. First night was a cocktail dinner - buffet style and guests were welcomed by the bridal party. The following night, guests were invited to Nobu at the Atlantis Casino to enjoy many courses. Afterward, a Reggae band entertained guests back at the One and Only resort. On the night of the big day, we walked into a ginormous tent and inside you had stepped into a jaw dropping sight. The decorations and details were simply well put out and a stage for the dj and live band was set up at the back for everyone to be able to see and enjoy. After the live band's performance, the room turned into a night club - strobe lights and glow sticks were being waved and the crowd was going wild when DJ Mia Moretti played her set. Into the wee hours of the night, I stayed up to enjoy the rest of the party and took many photos in the photo booth that had many props to use. Following the next day, we were all invited to have brunch at the One and Only and to spend time with everyone after a wild night. There was much company, music, dancing and food throughout the festivities. Lastly, the final few photos are of the hotel we stayed at: the Cove Atlantis. It was such a pleasant experience.

The bride simply looked gorgeous, I am so happy for my aunt Melissa and her husband Sam. Congrats you two!

Boulud Sud

One of many restaurants by Daniel Boulud, this Mediterranean themed restaurant caters to everyone who cares for a light and delicious meal. Right across from the Lincoln Centre, the busy atmosphere around the restaurant gives it character as people are rushing for shows and concerts. The food was light and tasteful - be sure to try the octopus appetizer! Don't forget about the Epicerie next door, as well as Café Boulud and Bar Boulud. Enjoy!

Food: Onion Velouté, Daurade, Chocolate Entremet, Prickly Pear with pineapple sorbet and an almond coral like crunch.
