KB_HDR6 It's been almost three years that Crossfit has played a huge role in my life. I may not eat how Crossfitters do all the time but the WODs and feeling of accomplishment has really pushed me to being a more successful person. The feeling of overcoming a heavy lift or beating an original time of a workout makes me feel like I'm on top of the world. Crossfit gives you that extra push that I find nothing else can - don't be lazy about it, just pick it up!

We might be crazy and do crazy things, but we love it. It's not all about what you can lift or how fast you can do Fran, it's about making that goal for yourself and achieving more. The community, the support; it's a second family. I just want to take the time to thank all those who have supported me and pushed me to be a better athlete and person.

The following photographs were taken for an HDR project in my Digital II class - taken at Crossfit Toronto.

Mountains and tons of food.

I was lucky enough to go home for Chinese new year. I first hit the slopes at Whistler with my sister and her best friend, and enjoyed a whole day of skiing (and eating). We had to make our usual stop at Crystal Hut for their fully loaded waffles. This is a MUST if you're heading up on Blackcomb. Glacier Creek is our lunch spot for a quick bite to eat, but we saved it for the last stop before heading down the mountain. It was a lot of fun being back with the girls... and a shout out to my mum to skiing for the first time after two years!

Spice Islands was the dinner stop after a long day of being up on the mountain, and we spent it with satays, fried rice, stir fried noodles, Bali Bali fish... and deep fried chicken wings. It was delicious!

Of course, Chinese new year was the following day. The house smelt of yummy foods all day and we had great family and friends over for dinner.

Although I had a short time home, I definitely spent it with the best of friends and family. And the doggies :) Shout out to Scrumpy as he turned 11 this weekend!

Ho Ho Ho... Reliving The Holidays!

This winter break I got the chance to not only spend a few days in the big apple for the holidays but also 4 weeks home in BC (and a little snowfall occurred might I add.) It was such a great time - the second I walked into the house I already knew the Christmas spirit was about. Christmas tunes, the smell of the tree, decorations hung everywhere... and don't forget the excited doggies who greeted me with such enthusiasm. There was plenty of food to be seen as we had several parties which meant great company and many drinks. Here's to the winter break I spent and a few photos to help relive the holidays.
